The new god, Adam Celbridge, has grown tired of being a god. He wants – so he says – to go and live alone on Mars.
To this end, the new god sent a talking apple to visit every person in the world. The talking apple told their person – in whatever language they understood – that there were 8 giant apples made of pure diamond. Whoever finds these apples will be made a god of one-eighth of the planet.
You and your friends who have survived this crazy new god’s whims have decided to search for one of these treasures. It might be the only chance to get some sort of normalcy back in the world. You are joined by a small army of highly talkative apples who suddenly find themselves unemployed.
