You gave up hoping for rescue months ago. Since then you have settled into making a home for yourself on this isolated planet. The loneliness is hard to cope with even with your mute android assistant. You try to keep busy but you talk to yourself a lot these days.

You have created a home at the foot of a mountain. It rains just often enough to grow crops and the view is fantastic. With the two suns, the days are 36 hours long. Mid-afternoon is the hottest. You built yourself a shaded area next to the stream where you get your water. You usually wait out the heat there.

This morning you decided that you would climb the mountain. You packed food and water the night before. At first light, you set off up the mountain. The slope was gentle and the walk refreshing. The view only gets better the further up you walk.

In the late afternoon, you reached the top of the mountain. You found a bubbling spring that is most likely the source of the water you drink. Large leafy green plants grow there so you stop there to get fresh water and wait for the hottest afternoon to turn into the cooler evening. When the larger of the two suns sets, you push through the foliage to get a view of the other side of the mountain.

In the valley below, you see what remains of a once vast city. It is now broken and decaying. Devoid of life. Not even the plants seem to want to grow there.

You start to wonder who built the city. Might there be anyone or anything left alive down there? You can only hope.
