Here is a tip for NaNoWriMo (and the rest of the time too). Chose one or two key elements of a scene and bring them to life in our imaginations with your description. Chose elements that imply the existence of others that you then do not have to describe.
Ideally, have the characters interact with the environment. Perhaps they pick something up to fiddle with while they talk. Anchor your characters to the setting in our minds.
Remember: You can always over-describe in this draft. Getting the balance right is for editing and rewriting.
